The attempt by the far right activists to label the Democratic party socialist is a misnomer. The US political parties have always been strong defenders of capitalism. Both of the major US political parties embrace capitalism, an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit.
The Republican party has previously been dedicated to reducing the regulatory burden placed on private enterprises by the government. The very rich have been intent on avoiding taxes.
The Democratic party under Biden likewise embraces capitalism. Businesses, where people work, are all private enterprises, totally separate from government ownership. The union movement has been strengthened and investments in business through government grants have been used to strengthen competition among companies.
